I just checked out some of the blogs listed in Blogs and Blogging in our session two notes. Miss Byrnes' Class blog showed a great way to use blogs for summaries or book reports.
That is a good setup! Have you checked out Mrs. Alaniz's blog? She makes hers really interactive for students with posts that would appeal to them. I think it would be fun to structure a classroom blog similarly to hers.
Diana, remind me to remind you to show in class your colleague's blog. I hope it will inspire others in our class to start a blog and get going doing something similar. This example really shows the power of blogging as a communication tool and writing for a purpose and a specific audience. Also, remind me to add it to my list of model teacher blogs.
